The Law for Librarians Workshop series is a grant-funded project designed to ensure that Texas librarians, particularly in areas of the state that are facing outside scrutiny, are equipped to understand First Amendment, Privacy, and Advocacy concerns in their libraries and implement policies that address those concerns. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Objectives: Attendees will learn the basics of how the First Amendment, Privacy Concerns, and Advocacy are embedded in what a library is and what librarians do each day. Presenters will share information on recent case law, legal precedence, and how to check your policies to ensure you and your library protect the First Amendment rights of the community you serve.
